i did a lot of research on cameras before i settled on this one--i wanted a digital slr that had at least 8 megapixels and was torn between the rebel xti (with 10) or the nikon d40x (with 10) but in the end it came down to price and i couldn't see spending an extra $200 for 2 more megapixels since i'm not a professional and don't need to blow up pictures to huge sizes. i found it at best buy on sale and with purchase i got a giftcard that covered the cost of a new compact flash memory card. the end =)
