*Nearly 9* Months Of Handsomeness

Seriously?

I opened my email this morning to find this:

Ezra is nine months old! At this age, babies are learning to test their parents and push for what they want. But you'll have to learn to say "no" to that sweet, yet demanding, little face.

1. Ezra is not allowed to turn 9 months old! He's toooooooooo big! Wah!

2. Hahahahhahaha If a parent thinks it's "hard" to say "no" to a 9 month old they sure aren't going to survive 1, 2, or 3 (or 4 or 5 or 5 and 1/2 for that matter!!).

3. Also, the more children you have the easier it is so say no to a sweet, demanding face! Unless you're a Granny than you are exempt from this =)

4. I will not even contemplate Ezra turning 9 months until the 1st. Until then I'm going to block this and the rest of the email from my mind =)

Happy Thursday!

Window(s) Shopping: If I Had A Million Dollars...

I *heart* this line by Gymboree!
Also, I wish my clothes were this cool!

Best. Night. Ever.

Ezra slept from 6:30 last night until 7:00 this morning! Woooo hooo!! Best. Night. Ever.!

Insert Cutesy Title *Here*

There's a lot a'brew'in in my mind.
Mostly just a lot of things I'm going to repress.
Deep breathing helps.
Yes. Vague. On. Purpose.
Also I've been a lazy blogger....
Our old computer died and we got a new one and none of my pictures are on it and then once I got pictures on it I didn't feel like editing them etc.
So
Blah
Ack
Gah!
Gag
and so on.
Thank goodness my kids are still cute:
(Saves me from having to be witty!)
The end.

It's Official!

Dada is Ezra's choice of first "word" (sound...whatev =).
Seriously, only 1 out of 3 children started with Mamamamama.
Oh well! It's cute =) And their Dada IS pretty stinkin' amazing!

This week was very odd around the Wonderful Household.
My children were strangely super well behaved nearly all week.
It was creepy.
Also. Wonderful =)
Actually they aren't usually bad just high maintenance....here and there...which is fine because they're children! But this week there was cooperation and love and happiness and naps and naps and naps.
I think the biggest reason it went so well is that my husband had a 5 day weekend. I think everyone would be soooo much happier if EVERY WEEKEND were a 5 day weekend =)
Here's an example of their creepy-good-ness:
I marched Ezra upstairs to nurse him down for nap. I had left the girls playing in the living room together. When I came back down a bit later they had
a) cleaned up all the toys
b) put on a movie
c) laid down on the couch
Observe:
I couldn't believe it...so I had to take a picture for posterity. =)
I love them. I'm so thankful to be their mother! My precious little ones!
And now it's late late late (for me) Friday night.
The babies have been sleeping for hours and I just finished watching Pride and Prejudice for the 15 millioneth time (never gets old!!!) and my real life better-than-Mr. Darcy-husband just finished clipping 15 millionish coupons for me.
Tonight life is peaceful and calm and happy and perfect.
And I am thankful.

Her Groovy New Smile

Precious girl,
I'll tell you the truth!
You look lovely even
when you're missin' a tooth!

The First Tooth Flew The Coop! Caution: Obligatory Wiggly Tooth Pictures Ahead!

Amelie has had a wiggly little tooth for a few days now! I kept telling her she wasn't allowed to lose any and that if she did I was going to glue it back in her mouth =)
After much wiggling....
And practice with Daddy....
Mommy popped the tooth out! I didn't take a picture of the new smile b/c it was a little scary looking in there--maybe tomorrow!

She is soooooooooo excited about the Tooth Fairy's first visit tonight! She made me write her name on the baggy her tooth is in so that the Tooth Fairy would know whose it was =)
Oh, and here's Maeve showing us her "loose" teeth! =)
Get your quarters out Grannys!!

This made me laugh really hard when Ezra was up from 2-4. Literally.

Back Yard Camping

The other day we set up a back yard camp ground!
We created fish....
for fishing....

and catching...

and set up a tent for camping and playing and pretend naps...

and roasted hot dogs and later, smores on the grill and made a huge mess!

FYI: Maeve does not like s'mores. Only the chocolate within =)

I love my babies! We had so much fun!

Freedom

I've been doing some reading in the book of Galatians, particularly chapter 5.
Galations 5:1a
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.
As Americans we enjoy an enormous amount of freedom in our daily lives--most of us have no idea what it's like to *not* be "free" to enjoy whatever we want whenever we want. However, the freedom that Christ offers runs so much deeper than the legal freedoms we enjoy here.
*************************
Christ offers us freedom
from death
((John 6:47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life ))
from our sinful nature
((19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, fisputes, dissensions, factions, 21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.))
to love others
((Galations 5: 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself.))
to focus on things that please God
((22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.))
**********************************
Yet, so often I get caught up in the little things--perceived slights, judgements, gossip, not being content with what others offer me...
I focus wayyy too much on myself and my own feelings and not enough on God--if I were a little more busy thinking about Him and pleasing Him I'd have far less time to feel sorry for myself when things don't go my way or people don't treat me the way I might feel I "deserve" to be treated.
Why is it so easy for me to turn my back on the freedom God has given me?
So...this is me.
Right now.
What I'm working on: less focus on me, more focus on HIM, more love for others, less thought for self
What I want to be: a servant of God, overwhelmed by His freedom, full of love and service for others, empty of self-importance and discontent
You know....in a nutshell. =)

Pizza Party Playdate

Yesterday we had my Sister In Law, Micayla, and her precious girl Ryleigh over for a cousin pizza playdate!
The girls love their little cousin and kept very busy entertaining (Amelie) and stealing toys from (Maeve) her! The kiddos were precious and it was a lovely way to spend the morning! Also, everyone took excellent naps so that was a bonus =)
And....no one looked at me for any of the pictures I took, so I eventually gave up! Ha!
Cousins playing in the empty toy cabinet =)

Teachable Moments

Amelie was singing a song she learned in VBS last night (something about the greatest commandment being to love) and she asked what a commandment was.
I started telling her that they are the rules God has given us so that we can live lives that honor him and I started to name some. She didn't know what the word *covet* meant so I started to explain the concept to her. Her reply?
"Well....*that* one is going to take some practice!!!"
Word, girl!
When we were on vacation the girls were so happy--they were being very good! During some down time I had them sit and watch a quick show on tv so we could get things together for a trip to the beach and they were sitting together.....
Well, not just *together* but Maeve was on Amelie's lap! It was so precious! I grabbed my camera and well....you can see what happened from there! =)
Tickle Fight!
Oh well...it was cute while it lasted =)

The Excitement Of The Day

Maeve is going to give me a head full of gray hairs soon enough!
She's a fragile little lamb and while playing with sister today (dancing/hugging/goofing around) her elbow got out of joint! This happened before and gave me an absolute heart attack!!! Praise God for a good friend who made a quick pit stop here to replace her arm parts and save us from a Dr's visit (who apparently couldn't get her in until EIGHT hours after the fact--eesh!!).
She's fine now =)
She's going to have to start dancing alone though b/c I can't take the trauma!!
We stayed home today b/c I dislike the extreme heat and sticky car seats and sweat and things.
The ac works fantastic =) Thank goodness!!
In other news, Ezra boy got up on his knees today! (like an upright kneeling position--does that make sense?). Anyways, right now he is sitting up by himself drinking water from a sippy cup. Seriously. I'm dying over here!
He's too big. I just can't allow this!!!
And my precious husband is currently out and about getting things for free from grocery stores. Love it. (and him!)
Happy Wednesday!!

Pondering Shower Curtains and Thinking Out Loud

I'm thinking about re-doing my bathroom scheme. We recently did a lot of work in there but the molding isn't really working out (we are not carpenters =) and the wall paper got smushed up by the molding. Currently my bathroom is gray (floors, tile walls) pink (barf! tub, sink, toilet and some tiles) and teal (wall paper). Sounds scary but it *works*
I've done some research into painting bathroom tiles--I know it can be done but I'm worried it won't work out =) I like the gray tiles--just the pink make me gag a bit.
Anyways...I'm thinking of using some gift cards to buy new curtains and I'm putting them here just 'cause. =)
Happy Tuesday!

When we first arrived at the beach Amelie ran right into the water and Maeve did A LOT of watching from verrrryyyy far away! Then she "warmed up" a little and let us hold her while we stood in the water.....little by little she became more sure of herself and started to really enjoy the beach! The girls both had so much fun playing together!
My three bathing beauties! Ezra like putting his toes in the water--but it was hard to tell whether or not he was really enjoying himself. =) He seemed to prefer the little shade tent full of toys!
And of course, he ate some sand! blah!
