Windows Shopping Alternately Titled: Does Anyone Even Try When It Comes To Their Boy Clothes--Notmuchtochoosefrom--?

Shelly's Snippets (cause that's all the pregnant lady has strength for)

* my nephew is here! after a long and annoying and disorganized ordeal of a day, amy and ethan are doing well. it is extremely irritating (putting it nicely) to me that my brother and his wife's first childbirth was marred by stress--it's difficult to give birth under the best of circumstances--i pray that they will have much peace and joy--b/c once you get through everything that's difficult and awful about childbirth--it really really is wonderful.
* speaking of childbirth--i. feel. like. crap. today. i'm hoping that's a *good* sign and that ezra is getting ready to BREAK out...well, hopefully glide out or something a little less violent--although there really isn't an adjective that describes childbirth in a way that doesn't make me queasy.
* maeve had her 2 yo check up! she's a little 10th percentile peanut but growing well! (23 pounds, 32 inches). she's come a long way from her "failure to thrive" days! (don't even get me started on THAT nonsense.
* heading to the couch to put my feet up now--did i mention i feel icky? comes with the 39 weeks and counting territory!
* please continue to pray for amy and ethan--hopefully the doctors work out a care plan for his kidney issues soon--he is stable and doing well though and i hear he's extremely cute--which, isn't surprising at all since his parents (and aunt) are so stinkin' cute!
* also happy birthday to my PLL! i know it was yesterday but i wasn't much of a blogger yesterday =)

happy friday!!

My Precious SIL Amy and Brother-Dear Matthew

Please pray for my brother and his wife tomorrow! Their little son Ethan is making his arrival! Please pray for Amy as she faces surgery and Ethan as the doctors decide which course of action to take for his kidneys and for Matthew (and our families) as he waits.
I love you guys!
Thank-you from the bottom of my bloggy heart!

Signs Your Daughter Is Too Old To Be Watching Dora

Dora says, "How can I make it across the bridge?" (The bridge was missing a few small pieces)
Amelie says, "DORA! Just *jump* over the holes! They're small! You can do it!"
Dora says, "Do you see anyone who can help me get across the bridge?"
Amelie says, "YES! He's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE! Right there! ON the bridge with you! Just look at him!"
tee hee!

Happy Second Birthday To The Marvelous! Magnificient! Multi-Faceted! The Merry Maeve of Wonder-Land!

I can hardly believe that two years ago today my sweet little Maeve-y girl was born!
She has brought so much joy into our lives--I can't imagine a minute going by without her!

She is turning into such a big girl and talking so much more! She loves to sing and dance and hug and watch Dora =) She is fun and lively, confident, adventurous and full of joy! I'm so thankful that God has blessed our family with two very delightful girls! What a gift!
Here's a picture of Maeve enjoying a mini-party with her friend Molly!
Yay for 2 year olds!
((And maybe...just maybe, if we're really lucky, Ezra will decide to share her birthday!))
Happy birthday sweet Maeve! We love you so much!!

A Letter For Ezra; Alternately Titled: (In The Approximate, Appended Words of The Great Mariah Carey); Get Outta My Ribs Boy

To My Dear And Darling Ezra-Boy,
Please. Get. Out.
Mommy loves you very much and has *enjoyed* the time we've spent together.
((Well, not all the time we've spent together...but a lot of it.))
I can forgive you for the 6 months of intense nausea and inability to eat, for the late night bathroom breaks, indescribably horrendous heartburn, the mood swings, the low back pain, the even-poorer-than-usual-balance and coordination, the limited wardrobe options, the stretch mark and swollen feet, etc and so on....
And I appreciate the fact that I've only gained 15 pounds with you,
but sweetie,
you're starting to cross the line.
Mommy is starting to resemble the Penguin from that Batman movie and it's not pretty. (Here is a picture for reference since by the time you're old enough to read this that movie will be 20 years old.)

Mommy doesn't like looking like the Penguin darling--so please, if at all possible, make your way into the world and be extremely cute so we can erase these painful memories.
Oh, and by the way, thank you for whatever you're doing for my skin and my hair--
they. look. fantastic.
((Not that anyone actually looks at my face anymore since you've so greatly misshapen my mid-section, but thanks for trying anyways.))
All my love and arms waiting to hold you,
Mama

Why Shelly Never (And Will Never) Complain About Doing Laundry

**My father was here this weekend and finished installing our FIRST *working* washer and dryer that my husband and I have *owned* since we've been married (ahem...8.5 years...)**
So. Happy. To. Do. Laundry.
Thanks Dad!!!!
(He also installed hand rail on the stairs, fixed my cabinet and did many misc. jobs--I'm so thankful for ALL of his hard work!!!)

Reasons to Believe There Must Be A Full Moon Or Something:

A. I wore sweatpants in public
B. Two days in a row
C. The same pair
D. Eh
E. Saw someone using the restroom at the library with the door open
F. They looked/were dressed *normal*
G. They didn't care when I walked by and didn't attempt to shut the door
H. Nine Million Scary Drivers Everywhere
I. I had more reasons but the baby brain has robbed my ability to remember them at the moment =)

I Take It All Back

So I take it all back...I'm returning the present I bought for Maeve and gifting the child this gently used mega-rose-petal cottage set.
I heart Craigslist!
Off to pick it up tonight and store it who-knows-where (or maybe she'll just have to celebrate her two-ness early!) =)
