In The Peaceful Hours I Type My Thoughts Away

Today my husband and I watched our neighbor with interest.
He spent *hours* hand fashioning a coffin for the Halloween display in front of their house.
Hours.
We wracked our brains trying to remember the last time we had the luxury of "hours" to do anything!
We couldn't remember. =)
Oh well.
I have sooooo many house projects I want to get working on but when we have the "time" that leaves one person doing the work and one person watching the babies (which also counts as work =). It's such a busy season in our lives!
It's a good one but boy--is my list getting longggg! =)
I bought some Amy Butler fabric on Ebay the other day to make curtains for the toy room (which is actually a formal dining room but probably won't be used as one as long as we live here =).
I'm going to repaint too (since the color I painted when we moved in actually ended up only being 1/2 shade darker than the shade that was already there. GAH!).
We also want to paint all of the woodwork (built in bookcases, molding, molding, molding, doors) too.
Big project.
Here's the curtain fabric:
Anyways...I just got the babies to bed (while the big girl is at CHRISTMAS concert practice) and now I have "free time" that I can use to do laundry and dishes! WOOOO HOOOO =)
Tee hee!
I'm thankful though!
For all of the busy-ness and work and stuff of life.
I'm thankful for my children and the opportunity to be busy taking care of them.
I'm thankful for my husband and love being his wife and cooking him meals and doing his laundry.
I'm thankful for our home and the chance to scrub my own floors and my own bathroom and our dirty dishes and dirty laundry.
God has been good to us!
Good night!

I know this is blurry but....

Here's "proof" of how most of our photo shoot went yesterday =)

Photo Shoot Three

The photo shoot went well...you know, if you don't count the fact that Maeve STILL refuses to smile for pictures and had a huge temper tantrum and kept throwing herself on the ground and screaming no. We still got some really cute pictures and a free Picture People Trilogy which made it all totally worth it! =)

Today. Yesterday. Last Night. This Afternoon. Tonight. But Not In That Order...

Ezra developed a little fever on Thursday...
and was a little clingy but no other symptoms...
Thursday night he woke up and I touched his forehead.
I felt like someone punched me in the gut.
THAT is how hot he was.
Burning up.
I took him for a middle of the night bath and gave him some tylenol and rocked him back to sleep.
He's been fine today but still has a fever and no other symptoms.
I hate baby sickness.
Could you say a prayer that he's feeling better soon?
*********************************************************
My Mom arrived last night to attend Grandparents day at school with Amelie!
Amelie has been in Granny Heaven all day and had a wonderful time with her!
The school sets up the cutest concert ever, an amazing carnival, a huge spread of food and keepsake crafts!
There were hotdogs and popcorn, cotton candy, soft pretzels...
They got their picture taken and made keepsake pillows with the picture, another framed picture, balloon animals, magic show, sand art--the works!
The school did an amazing job!! What a super special day!
I'm so glad that my Mom sacrificed so much to be a blessing to Amelie (and me).
We love you Mom!
Thank you for making the special trip down for this day! It means sooooo much!
*******************************************************************
That's it.
Today. In a nutshell.
Except I forgot to mention the applesauce.
My Dad sent down a HUGE garbage bag full of apples from NY.
My Mom and Amelie made a gigantic batch of applesauce and some apple crisp.
Yum. O.
Tomorrow we're getting the kiddos picture taken.
I'm sure it will be interesting.
Good night!

...............

My handsome little guy has been getting up regularly at 4:45 for the last week or more.
Boo.
Hate it.
He's actually very happy and good and has kept the same routine just the super early wake time is torturous!
Stinkin' teething!
(Not sure that's the culprit but totally going to blame it)
So this morning when he woke up at the usual time I let him talk/whine to himself for a while...
went in and gave him a hug
laid him back down and put the pillow over my ears so I couldn't hear him.
He didn't scream or cry really--just a little whiny for a while...
And then, he feel back asleep
and woke up at a humane hour.
Ezra, we LOVE 7....so...puhlease! Let's keep it up! =)

The Big Boy And His First Haircut!!

Ezra's hair has been bothering me like woah....
It bothered me so much I even made a video about it:
(based on actual events. no babies were harmed in the events that led to the production of the video...)
So yeah...the haircut pretty much HAD to happen. I did really well trimming the top but then the sides...were so hard...and there was so much moving...awful. Just AWFUL!
Anyways! The haircut place was super cute and the lady was awesome--so fast and friendly! She did a great job! We love his big boy hairdo!!!

 My handsome guys!

Monday Monday

The littles and I had a happy little Monday!
We got to enjoy the extra early part of the morning
(thanks to Ezra and his 5 am wake up call)
since morning nap was ALREADY over by 8:30....
We ran some errands and went to my new favorite baby friendly/mulch free park
(Ezra + mulch = lunch. Gross!!)
and visited Mr. Wonderful
and came home for a yummy lunch and outside playtime.
The weather is PERFECT!!
I love this time of year!
It always reminds me of home when the weather is sunny and cool/warm but not cold/hot.
Favorite!!
I just finished packing up my Ebay sellings
(cha ching)
and bagging up some of my free stuff for donation and family members!
The windows are open and I'm about to find some yummy kind of snack and relax with my precious husband and a great big stack of free magazines.
Happy Day!

Full of Handsomeness and Fully Needing a Haircut!!

Whenever I make a pie I think of two people:
1. My Mother, because she loves  pie!
2. My Grandmother, because she loved pie!
Whenever Grandma would make a pie she would test its
"done-ness"
by licking her finger and touching the bottom of the pie plate.
A sizzle = done.
No sizzle = not done.
Ha!
I didn't really understand that method then
(or now)
but I can't help but think about it and her.
I miss and love you Grandma Rose!
(That goes for you too Ma!)

He's So Toothsome!

Guess who has been sleeping through the night for the last week!?!?
Woot!

The Best Way To End A Day Of Apple Picking?

Apple Crisp!
(And some cute helping girls!)
Amelie washed and peeled, cored and sliced the apples for me with the help of our handy dandy apple peeler slicer corer do-hickey.
Yes, that was the technical term! Ha!
Helpful girl montage:
Delicious apple crisp!
Conveniently ready after all the kids were in bed =)
