Whenever I make a pie I think of two people:1. My Mother, because she loves pie!
2. My Grandmother, because she loved pie!
Whenever Grandma would make a pie she would test its
"done-ness"
by licking her finger and touching the bottom of the pie plate.
A sizzle = done.
No sizzle = not done.
Ha!
I didn't really understand that method then
(or now)
but I can't help but think about it and her.
I miss and love you Grandma Rose!

The other thing that makes me smile about Grandma's pie testing, is that she usually wanted ME to use my wet finger to test the bottom of that hot pie!
