I feel like I've been floating through my days lately--I haven't taken any pictures at all (highly unusual as you know!) and haven't had anything to really say.
The weekend was so full with running errands on Saturday and Mr. Wonderful gone all day/afternoon/evening/night at concerts. Church was nice, but not nearly as refreshing as it is when I have my helpful husband!
Monday, we were lucky enough to have a lovely playdate with our friends Brie and Anna--it was just what we needed.
I've come down with some latent Maeve-born illness and was wiped out all day. Luckily the wee ones took a 2 hour nap during which I also slept--
Praise be to God for naps and sleeping children. Woot!
I'm feeling much better tonight after taking a lovely, long walk with the girls and Mr. Wonderful. It's perfect outside--warm enough to eat ice cream (which we did), play at the park (yay!) and walk alllll the way back home without getting too hot or too cold.
Love. It.
In other news, Maeve is officially turning into a slightly tantrum-y toddler girl--no longer the sweet and easy going baby, she's the semi-sweet, knows-what-she-wants-when-she-wants-it type of girl. It's interesting...to say the least.
Well, that's it for now.
Happy Tuesday!

Random Picture Challenge

I enjoy reading B's blog and if you haven't checked it out--you should! She has 4 little boys and twin little girls, takes lovely pictures of them all, and posts lots of healthy recipes/health advice...you know, if you're into being healthy and stuff (some of us are just living vicariously, and happy just as we are don't cha know--tee hee!). Anyways:
27th folder or December 27th, I've picked the latter, Maeve is just a couple of months old and Amelie is 3 (and doing her signature popeye face)--they were (and are) just the sweetest little things!

...I love the fact that I can put Curious George on the tv and the girls are completely enraptured for the duration. Good stuff...good stuff.

Amelie Says

Amelie says,
"Mommy, I'd like an orange please.
But not the kind of oranges that I can't peel (navel),
and not the kind of oranges that I can peel (clementine)
but the kind of oranges that live in a can (mandarin).
Thank you."
Tee hee! Oranges that live in a can....
p.s. everyone has slept, is fever free, appropriately medicated and it's friday. phew!

Thursday Shmursday; Alternately Titled: Wake Me Up When It's Friday

* this has been the longest day of my life

* i got about 2 hours of sleep last night as maeve awoke more times then she did any other night in her entire 17 month existence.
* my handsome husband stayed home to help me wrangle the children today--PTL
* the maevenator had a doctor's appt, is on the road to recovery, and is much happier and healthier today
* i have been barfed on and crapped on more this week than ever before. ever.
* amelie hasn't taken a nap in 3 days....and i'm hoping that this isn't the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning or what-not and happenstance
* i am getting highlights and a hair cut on saturday--and i can't even begin to tell you how stinkin' excited i am for this special treat! ahhhhhh yes!
* it's hard to be all wakey-wakey and cheerful when it's dreary outside--let's keep our fingers crossed for SUN tomorrow!
* i need mocha coffee with whipped cream soon, if i do not get this mocha coffee with whipped cream soon i'm just not sure what will happen---i do know this,
it will not be pretty.
* bedtime is coming...the countdown is on...

The Sick One, Worry, And The Verse Of The Week

We've had a full week here at the Wonderful household and this verse has been on my mind, in my heart and my prayers:
Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
The Lord has been so good to me and calmed anxiety I've been feeling in one area this week; however, we still have a lot of things in the air and are waiting, waiting, waiting for His timing.
And my Maeve is sick.
Here's the sweet sick one.
Seeing her suffer has weighed very heavily on my heart these last few days.
And although I think she's improving she is still not feeling like her perky self.

(Staying hydrated)

I've also had some dear friends and dear family on my mind who having wrestled with many past obstacles and are just this week enjoying the most amazing blessings--Praise the Lord!! And those who are struggling publicly (B and J) and those are are struggling privately (the Lord knows!) and I'm so thankful that God is bigger than me and strong enough to carry everyone's burden. I think the doxology is in order, because really, after you've made your requests known there isn't anything for us but to praise Him!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Praise Him all creatures here below!
Praise Him above ye Heavenly Hosts!

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini!

Amelie is going to look sooo cute in this summer!
Yay for Gap Bucks!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

I rec. a message from an online photo storage place-y today about needing to make a purchase to keep my pictures online yadda. yadda. etc. and so on.
I was thinking I would just let the storage expire until I caught a glimpse of this:
Baby Amelie, about the same age as Maeve, looking a whole heck of a lot like her--all young and baby-like:
Be still my heart! Where did the time go? What a sweetie pie!

Mr. Wonderful's Group performed 3 songs--one has been posted to You-tube so far. I've seen a better view of them but couldn't wait and had to post this! This is Unwritten (they also performed You Raise Me Up and Dare You To Move).

He Is the CHAMPION, My Friends!!! (Wherein I Talk Endlessly Of My Husband's Awesomeness)

Mr. Wonderful and his music team participated in the International Competition of High School
Acappella last night and:

They competed against the best 9 schools on the east coast (from Maine to Virginia), and against the school holding title of National Champions and WON! Woo hoo for the little Baptist School That Could!! (And their totally awesome director!)

Now, that they hold the title of East Coast Champions--they get to compete against the top schools from all over America for the title of National Champions!

Yay! I'm a touch proud, can't you tell? =)

17 Maevelous Months!!

Ok Maeve, I've officially had enough!

The Girl In The Yellow Pants

One Crazy Banana

Mr. Wonderful and Amelie should never be allowed to shop unsupervised.
They are sweet and wonderful and were beyond thrilled to present me with this Old Navy "outfit" lovingly dubbed,
"The Banana."
They picked it out together and both absolutely adore it.
I guess I'll have to learn to love it and I have to admit--she'd make one stinkin' cute banana!

I Interrupt This Wordless Wednesday For An Important Announcement!

You knew I couldn't be totally word-less, right?
Mr. Wonderful had a marathon of a day yesterday competing at the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) music competition (against schools from NJ, MD and DE) and
*****drum roll please****
He and his students won 10 out of the 12 categories
and placed 2nd in the two they didn't end up winning!
The other schools weren't too happy about the sweep
(but sheesh--it's been a sweep-y few years--they ought to be getting used to his awesomeness!)
YAY HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're the best--it's scientifically proven!

If You Saw...

...my children in person, I'm sure you could deduce that they don't really "need" any new clothes....
but then if you saw the new tiny dancer collection at one of my favorite sites you might change your mind-
--needing things is overrated--
wanting, on the other hand...
tee hee!

I promise, I'll get back to blogging opinions, stories and stuff real soon like.
These darn clothes are totally distracting me from the real blogging I set out to do!
Ha! I'm so glad it's getting springy--aren't you?
Good night!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I totally forgot that today was the day!
Until, of course, we arrived at preschool and every ever-loving-child was wearing green from head to toe! Oops!
My grandmother was Irish to the extreme and always checked me out on St. Patrick's Day for a hint-o-green!
Have a Happy Day!

It's A Wonderful Family

This is my husband and I.
He's Wonderful.
God made us for each other.
And we are in love.
And his family's pretty cool too =)
We got together with most of the Wonderfuls today (We missed you PLL!) to celebrate the TOTALLY AWESOME MARCH BIRTHDAY PEOPLE and had a lovely time!
(Because, all the Wonderfuls are lovely, even if they aren't lucky enough to have been born in March =)
This is the pinata that brought out the best in all of the Wonderful Grandchildren.
Sorry it's out of focus...darn point and shoot! Here's Maeve, she couldn't care less about pinatas.
(Note her skeptical expression)
Here's our little ducks lined all up in a row!
Baby Ryleigh is in the picture too--but hidden in a blanket in Pop's arms.
As you saw before, Maeve just wasn't interested and Kezia was busy sleeping and such.
The big kid cousins: Naomi, Hadassah (a totally awesome march birthday person), Josh, Jameel and Amelie-girl.
Here's Amelie ready to take a crack! (Watch out Daddy, Maeve and Uncle Frank (another march birthday person!)
Amels loves pinatas and has been dying to take another crack at one since she had a chance at our good friends' birthday celebration!
Takin' a stylish crack at it!

It's a candy frenzy!!!
Amelie really only wanted skittles and just put a couple in her bag...
Mama had to "help her out" and get some kit kats...you know in case I she would want some later!

The cousins and uncle Ryan enjoying their spoils!

What a happy, fun, family day!

Actual Conversation: Amelie Says....

Amelie says, "I fart all the time. It's what makes me so healthy!"
So there it is folks...the secret to good health!

Wax On, Wax Off.

I've been watching Ugly Betty for a while now (on and off really--I can't stand a dram-edy that gets too depressing--cause seriously, who really needs to watch depressing tv? ick Hello Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives--that goes for you too!!) and was pleasantly surprised to see Ralph Macchio--Mr. Karate Kid himself become a recurring character.
I had such a huge crush on him when I was literally 5 (I looked it up, Karate Kid came out in 1984!!) and although I feel a bit sheepish on that point now it's always nice to see favorite actors from the past working today.
Not that I'll get to see much, since Ugly Betty is going off the air indefinitely...ugh.
It was nice while it lasted anyway!

6. her feet have grown half a size in 3 months
7. and she needs new tap shoes (ahhh $$) ---every week in dance class she's like..."ow" and i always forget until the next week when she says "ow" again.
8. i tried to pick up maeve today and couldn't believe how heavy she was! i think she's gained 5 pounds this week. seriously.
9. i am hopeful that she will be on track for the plethora of 18-24 month clothes awaiting her for summer
10. mr. wonderful has a school thingy tonight. blah.
11. mr. wonderful bowled a PERFECT 300 game in wii bowling. totally noteworthy.

This Is A True Story

I recently started watching the show *King of Queens* in re-runs and am finding it hilarious! I've been looking for this clip that I've wanted to share because I've had this same conversation with my husband more than once and just about died laughing watching it. You-tube wouldn't let me embed it so I have to put up the link. The video quality isn't great but it's totally worth checking out for a quick laugh and an "I've been there!" moment!
