T'was a minute before church when all through the house
not a creature was stirring (i don't think blogging counts)
I was dressed up and coiffed and ready for church
{Maeve's nap schedule had left me home in a lurch}
Maeve Beacon was nestled all snug in her bed
while visions of Mum Mum's danced in her head
When what to my wondering ears did resound
but a splish and a splash
--sounded like rain coming down--
Away to the bathroom I flew like a flash
tore open the door and heard a great smash!
It was the ceiling.
Apparently showers in my neighbors apartment now lead to a Niagara Falls reenactment in my house.
The maintenance man says, "Oh a little tape will fix that."
That HOLE in my ceiling? AND THE WATER COMING DOWN IN SHEETS?!?!
He used DUCT tape to "SEAL" my neighbor's shower...
"That'll hold until tomorrow...."
Right....right....right....
The End.

duct tape? really?!?!?! that's ridiculous. i'm sorry :(
Oh my......I can SO relate to this story!!!
When we were first married we lived in a N-A-S-T-Y- apartment! There was mold growing on the walls, and not just a little bit. ALOT of mold! I was not happy living there and a little concerned for our health, but it was CHEAP rent.
One evening we were snuggling on the couch, and we hear this dripping sound. We quickly figure out that it is coming from the bathroom. As we enter the bathroom to investigate, we discover that water is pouring out of the light socket in the wall, and the fixture in the ceiling. Quickly drenching our bathroom floor, and seeping out into the hallway. Figuring that the upstairs tenants have just overfilled their tub we call the super to let him know of the damage to our apartment. Come to find out it was not their tub that had overflowed, but their TOILET!!
That was the last straw....we moved out the next month!
Oh dear. That is really bad news. Hopefully he used lots of tape?
