The Sweet Smell of Pencils And Notebooks In The Fall

This is only the third Fall of my life to not be heading back to school and it is kill-in' me!
One of the reasons I became a teacher in the first place is because I love school.
Really, really I do...
And every year when the first day of school rolls around the only thing I can think about is the smell of books and crayons and number 2 pencils.
{I wish Glade would make a plug-in of that scent}
*The sweet scent of school supplies*
How I miss thee!

My oldest kids went back to school today, and I swear I heard the "Hallelujuh Chorus" playing when they got on the bus...

It's been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG summer. (Actually it was great, but I do enjoy getting a break)

Oh how I feel your pain! This is my first fall to not be going "back to school." As much as I LOVE being a mommy, and wouldn't trade it for the world, there is a part of me that's kinda sad this week! And, I also have an unhealthy love of school/office supplies. I could walk around Staples for hours like most people do at the mall! ha!

This reminds me of the line in You've Got Mail where the boy character emails the girl character and tells her he would send her a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils.

I would totally appreciate that gift.

Nick starts back on Thursday. I kind of like those smells, too! I also do like a good stroll thru Staples/ Office Depot, etc.!!!

How funny that the excitement you feel is not there for this school employee i.e..... maybe because I'm the one who ORDERS all those pencils for the teachers who love the beginning of the school year!

My kids go back tomorrow and I think they are more excited than I am - imagine that! I think the summer flew by in some aspects.

That's a cute idea for the Glade scents. You should send in your idea - maybe they'll do it!
